Meaningful change. Purposeful progress.

Two paths, one thoughtful approach

Counseling and mental performance services

Mental health counseling and mental performance coaching can address overlapping concerns, but they serve different purposes. We can explore which approach best fits your goals and needs.

Mental Health Counseling

Individualized therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, perfectionism, depression, and related concerns. I use approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and inference-based CBT (I-CBT).

For: Adolescents, young adults, college students, athletes, and adults.

Mental Performance Coaching

Practical mental skills for athletes, teams, and high performers. Coaching may focus on confidence, attention, motivation, performance routines, self-talk, recovering from mistakes, and navigating performance pressure.

For athletes and high performers

Support for the person behind the performance

Competitive athletics can bring extraordinary opportunities—and real pressure. Student-athletes may be balancing academics, training, relationships, injury, identity, and expectations to excel.

As a former Dartmouth varsity ice hockey player and experienced collegiate coach, I understand the athletic environment firsthand. My work draws on that experience alongside clinical training and evidence-based approaches.

Concerns we can address

  • Performance anxiety and pressure
  • Perfectionism and fear of failure
  • Confidence and self-talk
  • Focus and emotional regulation
  • Burnout and loss of motivation
  • Injury-related stress and changes in athletic identity
  • Balancing sport, school, and well-being

Mental performance coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy when treatment of a mental health condition is needed.

Common questions

Getting started

Do you work with people who aren’t athletes?

Absolutely. I work with adolescents and adults from many backgrounds, including people seeking specialized treatment for OCD, anxiety, and perfectionism.

Is mental performance coaching the same as therapy?

No. Therapy addresses mental health concerns through clinical assessment and treatment. Mental performance coaching focuses on developing skills for performance and other personally meaningful goals.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Availability and eligibility depend on the service and your location. For psychotherapy, you must be in a location where I am authorized to provide care.

Where is your office?

My office is in downtown Hanover, New Hampshire, within walking distance of Dartmouth College at 12 South Street. I can also serve clients in the Upper Valley and beyond through eligible virtual services.

Ready to take the next step?

Whether you’re looking for OCD or anxiety treatment, support with perfectionism, or mental performance coaching, I’d be glad to hear what you’re looking for and help you determine whether my services are a good fit.
